Community and voluntary groups can learn more ways to improve their funding applications, thanks to another free funding workshop from Basildon Council and Basildon, Billericay and Wickford Council for Voluntary Service (BBWCVS).
The “Understanding Outcomes – Improving Your Funding Application” workshop is being held on Tuesday 19 June from 9.30am to noon at the Basildon Centre, St Martin’s Square.
The workshop is for groups who are either new to writing applications for funding or for those who are having trouble accessing grants,. As spaces are limited, groups are encouraged to book early to secure their place.
Pippa Brent-Isherwood, manager of community services, said: “Potential funders are placing increasing emphasis on community groups showing in their funding applications the community benefit and effect their projects will have. Feedback from funders has shown that organisations are being rejected as they do not demonstrate their outcomes successfully.
“This workshop will help groups get the message across in their applications about the good work they do as volunteers and how this work affects the communities they operate in.”
This practical workshop has been organised in response to a number of groups requesting help with this aspect of filling out forms.
It is being delivered by Jill Curd from the Essex Community Foundation, who is experienced in training voluntary groups and whose organisation manages a number of grants that benefit groups in Essex. Jill will deliver the workshop from a funder’s perspective and will also provide information about their available funding programmes and updates to their application processes in 2012/2013.
