Local performers from around the borough are invited to showcase their talent at this year's Together Against Crime event.
Taking place in the Basildon Town Square, the stage is set for local performance groups, containing members up to the age of 19, to apply for the chance to show off their talent on the Community Stage in Basildon’s bustling town square.
Paula Mason, Basildon Council’s Community Safety Manager, said: “The community stage is all about young people being given the opportunity to showcase their talents and to give them the chance to be seen as positive role models for other young people in our community. We are excited to see what local talent Basildon has to offer this year.”
The Basildon Community Safety Partnership (CSP), which includes Basildon Council, Essex Police and Essex Fire and Rescue Service are hosting the annual Together Against Crime event, on Thursday 26th July from 10am- 4pm.
Representatives from the CSP will be on hand to provide information, useful crime prevention tips and offer support to members of the community.
There will also be information relating to the work of the CSP and the projects they are involved in to help reduce crime in your area.
Bala Mahendran, Chair of the Basildon CSP and Chief Executive of Basildon Council, said: "The event will give our residents a chance to become more aware and involved with the work of the CSP and the effort that is being made to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour across the borough.
“It’s also an opportunity for the public to tell us what we are doing right, and what we could do better, so the issues most important to residents are being addressed.”
