BURNT Mills Industrial estate is to get a supermarket of its own on Tuesday 24 November.
But not the sort of supermarket where you can pick up a pint of milk and loaf of bread.
The estate will be hosting Basildon’s first ever’ business support’ supermarket at the Burnt Mills café and adjoining unit on Ridley Road between 11am and 4pm.
Many business support services will be attending offering advice, help and support to businesses in the area.
Deputy chairman of Basildon Council, Cllr Sandra Hillier will be in attendance between midday and 1pm to meet businesses.
Run in conjunction with the Burnt Mills Industrial Association (BMIA), the Council, Basildon Renaissance, and Business Link East, the event is the first of its kind, and is part of the Council’s ongoing effort with its partners to help businesses out of the recession and into the recovery.
Exhibitors will include the police, the FSB, the Basildon Green Business Forum, Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC), the Basildon Business Group, Essex Trading Standards, Anglia Ruskin University and various departments from the Council including environmental health and business rates.
Alan Osborn, chairman of the BMIA says: “I am delighted that Burnt Mills is hosting such an important event. Supporting businesses is so vital in the current times and as we move towards recovery.
“ The supermarket style of this event will work really well, with businesses from the estate being able to pop down for 5 minutes or a hour, chat informally with business support providers, have one to one meetings and get involved in the industrial association.”
